GoodFriday: On risk, life insurance & deadlift warm up

Happy GoodFriday!

Here’s something I heard, thought, and did this week.

Something I Heard:

“By being risk averse, you’re actually taking far more risk.”- James Holland

Something I Thought:

Strength training is the best life insurance policy available.

Something I’m Doing:

My buddy and Doctor of Physical Therapy, Shayan Safar, put together a list of the best warm up exercises for the deadlift. These exercises activate and mobilize the key areas in the body so that you can rip weight off the floor safely. For the full video run through click the link HERE

Below is the written breakdown of the routine.

  1. 90 degree core brace w/ press down 1 x 1min (optional leg lower)

  2. Band distracted windshield wiper 1 x 15

  3. Dowel hip hinge 1 x 10-15

  4. Side plank clam shell 1 x 1min per side

  5. Band resisted hip hinge abduction 1 x 10

Until next week!
